Plants used for soap

List of plants some organ of which is directly used as soap. This list excludes oil plants, the oil of which is used through esterification.

• Colubrina arborescens (Mill.) Sarg.: leaves, bark
• Momordica cochinchinensis (Lour.) Spreng.: roots
• Quillaja saponaria Molina: soap from the powder of internal bark, pesticide adjuvant
• Sapindus mukorossi: fruits (washing nuts). saponine (terpenic or steroidic)
• Sapindus saponaria L.
• Saponaria officinalis L.: roots (saponaire)
• Sida rhombifolia L.: leaves
• Triadica sebifera (L.) Small: leave wax used to produce a soap
• Trichilia emetica Vahl: seed oil, leaves
• Zanha africana (Radlk.) Exell: root or stem bark, fruits
• Zanha golungensis Hiern: bark
• Zanha suaveolens Capuron: bark

Although it is called savonnier and belongs to the Sapindaceae family, Koelreuteria paniculata Laxm. doesn't seem to be used for soap.
