Usages
In South America (Argentina, Bolivia, Peru), Central America (El Salvador), E and Central Africa (here very popular in agroforestry systems), India, Thailand and Java cultivated as shade tree in plantations of coffee and tea; leaves as green manure (India). In E Africa and Israel used as windbreak and on Java for reforestation. In the tropics and subtropics often planted as street tree and as ornamental, also as honey plant (even in USA: California, Florida, Hawaii). The elastic and durable wood used for making veneer and in cabinetry.
