Distribution
Native of the Philippines and Borneo; sometimes cultivated, e.g. in Indonesia (Java).
Uses
The bark is used for tanning. Sometimes it is planted as an ornamental.
Observations
A shrub or small tree, up to 10 m tall. Commonly found in primary forests at low and medium altitude, sometimes up to 1400 m.
