Distribution

The Philippines (Rizal, Laguna, Tayabas, Camarines, Sorsogon, Davao, Agusan, Lanao).

Uses

Canes used in making baskets.

Observations

Slender rattan. Stem without leafsheaths to 15 mm in diameter, with sheaths to 25 mm in diameter. Leaves cirrate; leafsheaths armed with comblike spines. Fruit globose, to 7 mm in diameter, with short beak. Endemic to the Philippines in primary forest at low and medium altitudes up to 1200 m.
