Peninsular Malaysia.

Uses

The wood is used as berangan.

Observations

A medium-sized tree up to 21 m tall, bole up to 60 cm in diameter, rarely buttressed, inner bark granular, soft, pale yellow; leaves 8-15 cm × 3-6 cm, with 8-14 pairs of secondary veins, greenish-grey and with a dense cover of appressed stellate hairs below; cupule 2-3.5 cm × 1.5-3 cm, enclosing the single fruit, often golden hairy, densely set with short, pyramidal tubercles, fruit completely adnate to the cupule. C. nephelioides occurs in primary forest up to 1200 m altitude. The density of the wood is about 610 kg/m3at 15% moisture content.
