Category:Fruit

This list includes species which give fleshy or mealy fruits with a sweet taste. It excludes nuts. When the same species gives both a fruit and a nut (e.g. Anacardium occidentale or Prunus armeniaca), please put it in both categories ("Fruit" and "Nut").

By "fruit", we mean here all the fleshy organs or tissues surrounding the seeds, or intended originally to do so (in the case of parthenocarpic fruits). Most fruits grow on trees or shrubs, but some grow on herbaceous plants (Fragaria, many cucurbits).

Are excluded such fruits which are used as vegetables (tomato, eggplant, string beans...).
