Distribution
Peninsular Malaysia and Borneo (Sarawak).
Uses
The wood is used as medang and is reported to be hard.
Observations
A medium-sized tree up to 24 m tall, bole up to 50 cm in diameter, bark surface smooth, reddish-brown, inner bark brownish; leaves arranged spirally, 7-21 cm × 3-11 cm, apex broadly acuminate to blunt or emarginate, with 6-10 pairs of secondary veins, purplish-grey or purplish glaucous and with pubescent veins below; inflorescence 20-25 cm long, minutely bluish-grey pubescent; perianth 3 mm long, the lobes as long as the tube, pedicel 1 mm long, fertile stamens 9, villous; fruit oblong-ellipsoid, 10-15 mm in diameter, with a swollen pedicel. C. scortechinii is found in lowland and montane forest, up to 1500 m altitude.
