Distribution

New Guinea.

Uses

The timber is reputed to be used as kelat.

Observations

A medium-sized tree up to 30 m tall; leaves elliptical to lanceolate-elliptical, 1.5-3 cm × 1-1.5 cm, with closely spaced (1-2 mm), rather distinct secondary veins, petiole c. 2 mm long; flowers in axillary and terminal inflorescences, calyx c. 10 mm long; fruit unknown. S. carrii occurs in montane forest at 1500-2100 m altitude.
