Uses

The timber is reputed to be used as kelat.

Observations

A medium-sized tree up to 30 m tall, bole up to 60 cm in diameter; leaves oblong-elliptical, 8-15 cm × 3-5 cm, with 8-10 pairs of secondary veins prominent below, petiole 10-20 mm long; flowers in terminal, strongly branched and many-flowered inflorescences, white, calyx up to 6 mm long, obscurely lobed; fruit globose, c. 25 mm in diameter, greenish. S. corymbosum occurs scattered in primary rain forest up to 1000 m altitude.
