The nomenclature of hybrid blackberries (which can be red, and are all included here) is totally confusing, and not stabilised. Names apply to only one cultivar (a clone), and such cultivars will change with time. The problem in English is that names are formed with berry and a qualifier. ''Berry'' is unfortunately a generic name that includes species from several genera and families (''Vaccinium''...). Nothing in the English names indicates that they come from a ''Rubus''. | |||
