Amaranthus retroflexus Linn. GREEN AMARANTH. PIGWEED. North America. This weed occurs around dwellings in manured soil in the United States whence it was introduced from tropical America. It is an interesting fact that it is cultivated by the Arizona Indians for its seeds.
