Description
- plante herbacée pérenne de 5 m de haut
- feuilles subsessiles, à limbe linéaire à lancéolé, de 50-55 cm de long
- inflorescence en épi subglobuleux de 5 cm de diamètre, près du sol sur un pédoncule séparé
- bractées extérieures elliptiques, de 2,5 cm de long
- corolla en tube de 2 cm de long et 3 lobes de 12 mm de long
- labellum 17 mm long; filament 3 mm long, anther 4 mm long. Fruit capsular, subglobose although slightly compressed triangular, 1 cm in diameter, red, easily dehiscing into 3 parts, exocarp with short spines. Seed with pleasant-tasting aril.
