- sous-arbrisseau dressé, à branches ascendantes, tiges pubérulentes avec pubescence en étoiles de très petite dimension
- feuilles alternes, rhomboïdales-oblongues à ovales-cunéiformes ou oblancéolées, obtuses à arrondies ou subaiguës à la pointe, cunéiformes ou arrondies à la base
- fleurs axillaires solitaires et dispersées le long de la tige ; corolle jaune ou jaune-orangée
- fruits glabres, carpelles mutiques ou avec 1-2 épines

Usages
Cultivated in Australia (Queensland), North and South America, also in Africa as fibre plant. The bark fibre has the quality of jute. In India used as medicine (mucilage). Leaves and young shoots are eaten in Middle and South America as vegetable. The dried leaves are also used as tea. S. rhombifolia is one of the most variable species of the genus Sida. As result of this variation it was described by several authors under different names.
